16th to 22nd March is Village Hall Week and this year's theme is ‘Connecting Communities to Health and Wellbeing’. This is an initiative run by ACRE (Action for Communities in Rural England). In conjunction with this, we want to promote the health and well-being offer from our clubs and hirers and highlight the work they do.
Village halls are at the heart of rural life, playing a vital role in keeping people healthy, active, and connected. By providing spaces for exercise, social clubs, health sessions, and peer support, they help prevent isolation and promote wellbeing at every stage of life. This community-led support not only enriches lives but also reduces pressure on the NHS and other statutory services, helping people to stay well for longer and closer to home.
ACRE’s Village Halls Manager, Deborah Clarke said, “We are pleased to share that the 10th Village Halls Week will highlight health and wellbeing. Volunteers managing halls play an essential role in connecting people and helping to create resilient, healthier rural communities.”
This week we are highlighting our clubs as part of this initiative, showcasing the work they do in promoting the health and well-being of local residents. You can see information about the clubs using the hall on our website, who the club is aimed at, and how to get in touch should you be interested. We’re very grateful for their continued use of the hall and for the difference they are making in the community.
